Commercialising our own portfolio of valuable intellectual property assets means we truly understand what works and what doesn’t in technology investment. We have put this knowledge to good use by creating the EverEdge IP Technology Investment Fund to actively invest in technology start-ups and stand-alone innovations. 

By identifying, developing, funding and successfully exiting intellectual property commercialisation projects, we have gained an international reputation for introducing technologies that redefine industries and facilitate new growth and wealth creation opportunities.

Since the Fund’s creation in 2008, we have completed three eight figure commercialisation deals involving the sale or license of intellectual property assets to leading multi-national manufacturers and brands. 

The Advantage of the EverEdge IP Technology Investment Fund

Investment capital is the fuel that drives commercialisation; without it, commercialisation is not possible. But not all capital is equally helpful and traditional fund models can come with a lot of strings attached.

• We do not take an equity position (shares) in our investment ventures
• We do not retain ownership of the underlying intellectual property
• We invest both hard (cash) and soft (services) dollars into our portfolio companies

Technology Investment Fund criteria

We invest in technologies that meet the following criteria:

• a foundation technology with multiple industry or market applications
• a strong and durable intellectual property position
• the ability to generate a minimum of US$50m in earnings, and 
• technology that is targeted at international markets

In addition to possessing our own investment capital, EverEdge IP is one of only a handful of accredited brokers for New Zealand Trade and Enterprise’s Escalator programme. The Escalator program provides small and medium-sized enterprises up to $22,000 in 100% government funding to prepare them to be investment-ready so they can raise capital or undertake strategic deals. As an Escalator partner, we can help you connect into such funding and also help you to connect to the right investors and companies to raise capital or secure deals.
