Professor Henry Bolanos - Chairman

Professor Henry Bolanos is the former VP of R&D for US Surgical Corporation and is worldrenowned for his invention of laparoscopic or “key hole” surgery – the most fundamental surgical advance of the 20th century, which has saved countless lives and revolutionised surgical techniques. Professor Bolanos is the named inventor on more than 110 US patents in surgical instrumentation and other fields.
He is a sought-after guest speaker for corporations and organisations around the world and serves as a visiting professor at Yale University, the University of Virginia and the University of Auckland.
Professor Bolanos holds a Master of Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey. He is the co-author of three books on creativity and new product development, and also serves as an expert witness in patent and product liability litigation.
