Dean Prebble - Director Commercialisation Service Line

Dean helps clients commercialise their innovation. He specialises in business model design, strategy development and execution support.
Dean’s early career was in Finance. In the mid 1980s Dean managed the public floatation of one of New Zealand’s first bio-technology companies. He went on to hold senior analyst/consulting positions with firms such as CS First Boston and Ernst & Young.
In 2000 Dean committed full time to hi-tech sectors with a focus on capability building. This led to his role as Director of the New Zealand Centre for Innovation Entrepreneurship, famous for establishing New Zealand’s first incubator and first Masters program in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Dean specialises is in Business Model Design and Commercialisation Strategy and he is well published in these areas. Dean has worked as a consultant for a variety of sectors including manufacturing, software, healthcare, tourism and leisure and food and beverage. He holds a Master of Commerce in Marketing and International Business and certificates from the Society of Investment Analysts. He was an early member of the New Zealand Venture Capital Association, Incubators NZ and the Ice Angels and was a contributor to the formation of the government's seed co-investment fund.
