Nortel Networks patents
Our partners Global IP Law Group have successfully completed the sales process of 6,000 Nortel Networks patents.
The consortium of Apple, EMC, Ericsson, Microsoft, Research In Motion and Sony paid $4.5 billion firm's patents spanning wireless, wireless 4G, data networking, optical, voice, Internet, service provider and semiconductors.
One of the challenges was to price the assets for auction as intellectual property asset sales of this size are rare. As David Berten, partner and founder of Global IP Law group said, “We found it to be very difficult because there were not many comparable transactions that had happened before”.
